Capacity Support Services.

What are your capital supports?

Capacity support enables NDIS participants to build their independence and skills through the help and guidance of providers. NDIS participants’ budgets are allocated at different support category levels to help them build up their capacity to achieve their goals. Services under capacity supports may include therapists such as occupational therapy, speech therapy, psychology, behavioral therapy, counseling, and job network.

There are 9 support categories under capacity support:

  1. Coordination of Supports

  2. Improved Living Arrangements

  3. Increase Social & Community participation

  4. Finding and Keeping a Job

  5. Improved Relationships

  6. Improved Health & Wellbeing

  7. Improved Daily Living

  8. Improved Life Choices

  9. Improved Learning

Types of Capital Support

Advisor

Support Coordinators are people who can help you understand your NDIS plan. They can work with you and source out supports to ensure that you get the outcomes best for you.

There are three levels to this support: 

1. Support Connection: These are connections to support providers 

2. Support Coordinators: These are your advisors who will walk you through the process and build your capacity to manage your plans.

3. Specialise Support Connection: This is intended for people with more complex needs.

Therapist

You can now have access to therapy or specialized support sessions to help you adapt or regain independence with your disability, manage behaviors or look after your mental wellbeing.

These therapies may include: 

1. Physiotherapy 

2. Speech Therapy 

3. Psychological Therapy 

4. Nutrition Therapy

5. Personal Trainer 

6. Occupational Therapy

Job Networks

An employment support advisor can help you with careers advice and planning an employment pathway so you can work towards your employment goals

Supports to help you find employment may include: 

1. Training 

2. Employment Advisors 

3. School Transition to Work 

4. School Transition to Further Studies 

5. Employment Counselling 

6. Individual Employment Support
